A versatile drink, plum and grape Rakija can be served in many ways. Here a just a few:
✓ Straight out of a shot glass (Zlatan's favourite)
✓ On the rocks
✓ Shot of Rakija, ice freshly squeezed grapefruit juice (lemon or lime can be used) topped up with tonic or soda water. (Mum's summer favourite)
✓ In your favourite cocktail, especially brandy based cocktails.
✓ Grape Rakija warmed up with a dash of sugar melted through. (Tony's favourite)
Warning: Do not boil the Rakija and take extreme care if using a gas stove top as the gas can ignite the Rakija fumes
Rakija is traditionally drunk pre dinner accompanied with a simple green salad topped with Feta cheese. Also — it is irresistible with pickled vegetables such as cabbage, chillies cauliflower and not to mention mezze platters... ENJOY!
